Northeast Raiders Indoor Soccer League

Player Registration:

All players will be listed on their teams’ roster before the season begins. Players can only play for their assigned team, unless Director makes a change, or player is asked to help another team.

Number of Players:
EIGHT is the maximum number of players on a team; THREE field players and a goalkeeper on the field during game play. U8 may player Four field players and a GK. Players may only play on one team in the league. Substitutes may occur on the fly or at any dead ball situation.

Team Uniforms & Equipment:
All players must wear program issued jerseys/shirts during play. All players must wear shin guards and sneakers, NO CLEATS. Any player without shin guards or wearing cleats
will not be allowed to play. Any player wearing jewelry/earrings will not be allowed to play.

Goal Area:
A 12 foot semi-circle is directly in front of the goal. Goalkeeper is considered to be in possession of the ball when he/she attempts to pick the ball up, controls with any part of body on the ball in this area. No offensive player is to attempt to kick the ball while in the goalkeeper’s possession,
NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Game Duration:
The game shall consist of four 10 minute quarters separated by a two minutes at the 1st and 3rd quarter breaks and a 5 minute max halftime period. Can be less if players are ready to play.

Goal Scoring:
Goals can be scored from anywhere on the offensive half of the field of play. The ball must last be touched (either by offense or defense) within the attacking team’s offensive half of the field.

Ball Out of Play:
The ball is considered to be out of play when it touches any part of the netting above the walls or ceiling. The ball to be put back in play from the spot closest to where it touches netting by the opposite team that touched the ball last with an indirect kick.

10 Foot Rule:
In all dead ball situations, defending players must stand at least 10 feet away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal area is closer than 10 Feet, the ball shall be placed 10 Feet from the goal area in line with the place of the infraction.

Indirect Kicks:
All dead ball kicks (kick-ins, free kicks, kick-offs) are indirect. There will be no attempted touch the ball and blast it on goal for an indirect kick.
All dead ball kicks, MUST be played/passed to a teammate.

Goal Kicks:
May be taken from any point in the goal area.

Kick Off:
May be taken in any direction.

Penalty Kicks:
Shall be awarded if, in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity was nullified by the infraction. It is a direct kick taken from 5yds above the goal arc with all players behind the half-field line. If a goal is not scored, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick. Penalty kicks are not live balls.

Player Ejection (Red Card):
Referees have the right to eject a player from the game for continual disobedience or as a result of an incident that warrants sending the player off. The team may then continue with the remaining players on their team. If the ejected player was on the field, he may be replaced by an eligible rostered player on the team.

Sportsmanship:
Players, coaches and spectators are expected to act in the nature of good sportsmanship at all times. Abuse of the referees will not be tolerated. Any instance of such conduct will disqualify the responsible party from the game.

Situations or occurrences that these rules do not address shall be left to the sole discretion of the League Director.
